Samuel was the Housecarl for Crydee during and after the Riftwar.
During the Choosing of Tomas and Pug, he chose Geoffry to serve in the castle.
The old steward, approaching eighty years of age, had been in the service of the ducal household of Crydee since Duke Borric and could still wield a stout switch. He trained Prince Nicholas and Harry during their stay as Squires in Crydee.
