Justin of the Acoma is the son of Mara of the Acoma and her slave Kevin of Zun. Mara timed her wedding to Hokanu of the Shinzawai so that he could be raised as his son.
Due to his mother, Mara, being adopted into the royal family by being given the title Servant of the Empire Justin is the closest male relative on the death of Emperor Ichindar. By marrying Jehalia, Ichindar's eldest daughter his position to claim the throne is strengthened and he is pronounced the 92nd Emperor of Tsuranuanni.
