When the Tsurani take over the estate, Hamish helped provide advice to other residents on how to avoid angering the Tsurani soldiers. His senior guard was Drogen.
He had a reputation for getting drunk during the winter, sometimes going far enough to go on a rage against others. After the Midwinter Festival during the Tsurani occupation of White Hill, this leads to a late night outrage in the Estate yard. After waking some Tsurani soldiers, who bring out Strike Leader Chapka, he challenged the Tsurani to a fight. Chapka ordered him killed. He was struck down by an arrow to the chest, a sword in one hand and a jug of applejack the other.
